At long last the horn of the Queen ferry signaled again but this time it was with a good news. “We have arrived!”, was the most important word that came out of the loud speakers. A three hour journey from Akosombo Port to Dodi Island was over.
Finally! we all said. Now the next thing was how we were going to get down the ferry. It was a challenge for some people especially the ladies. This was the case because we were supposed to use a different route rather than the normal and “easy” one. We were going to climb over the rails of the ferry in order to get onto the docking platform. The natives of the Island were happily welcoming us. This painted the picture of some white men coming to visit the black natives of a land.
